Vietnamese Foreign Minister to Embark on Official Visit to China
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn is scheduled to undertake an official visit to China from April 3 to April 4, 2024, following an invitation extended by his Chinese counterpart, Minister Wang Yi.
This significant visit unfolds against the backdrop of the continued positive trajectory characterizing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, marked by notable achievements and mutual engagements.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscores the regular exchanges between leaders of both nations, reaffirming the robust political trust underpinning bilateral relations. Noteworthy among these exchanges are the visits of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng to China in October 2022, followed by the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in December 2023.
Both nations have recently issued a joint statement aimed at deepening and elevating their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, laying the groundwork for a forward-looking Vietnam-China community of shared destiny, and ushering in a new phase of cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit, Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn is slated to engage in discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, hold meetings with leaders of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, pay homage at the Hồ Chí Minh Memorial House in Guangxi, and partake in other pivotal activities aimed at fostering bilateral ties.
