Vietnam’s Chính Meets Newly-Appointed Ambassadors and Diplomatic Heads

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnam’s Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Saturday held a meeting with 26 newly-appointed ambassadors and heads of Vietnam’s representative offices abroad before they assume their assignments in 48 countries and one international organization. The diplomats were commended for their professionalism and experience by Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Minh Vũ.

Speaking on behalf of the group, a representative expressed their commitment to advancing Vietnam’s foreign policy objectives, fostering unity, and enhancing the country’s international relationships through practical and effective diplomacy.

Congratulating the diplomats, PM Chính underscored the honor and responsibility entrusted to them by the Party, State, and people. He expressed confidence in their ability to fulfill their duties, leveraging their expertise to advise Party and State leaders on key foreign policy matters.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of diplomacy in fostering development and internal stability. He emphasized the need for flexible, culture-oriented diplomacy aligned with the Party’s guidelines and urged the diplomats to promote Vietnam’s political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties while protecting overseas Vietnamese and ensuring citizen welfare.

PM Chính outlined the nation’s priorities, including achieving the goals of the 13th National Party Congress, preparing for the 14th National Party Congress, and celebrating the 80th anniversary of independence. Long-term objectives include transforming Vietnam into a high-income developed nation by 2045, coinciding with the centenary of the nation and the Party.

The Prime Minister urged the diplomats to focus on economic diplomacy, as detailed in the Party and Government’s directives, and lead by example in fostering solidarity within their embassies. He called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to ensure optimal support for the embassies, enabling them to effectively serve the country’s foreign policy as Vietnam enters a new era of growth and global standing.
