22nd Road Cycling Race Grand Prix begins in Tabriz

Tabriz, The Gulf Observer: The 22nd Road Cycling Race Grand Prix started work in the presence of Iranian and foreign cyclists in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz on Saturday.

The event used to be held in the presence of Iranian cyclists, but due to its registration in the International Cycling Union (UCI) it will be held in the presence of foreign cyclists and as the first stage of the 36th tour of Iran-Azerbaijan, the IRNA reported on Saturday.

As many as 156 cyclists from Iraq, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Japan, the Philippines, the Netherlands and Iran attended the event.

The tour starts from Manzarieh Square and the cyclists race towards the historical village of Kandovan through Sahand highway.
