Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: In a significant development for Central Asian diplomacy, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have solidified their partnership through the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations, following high-level talks between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. This landmark agreement, which was reported by NHC, underscores the deepening ties between the two nations and sets the stage for enhanced collaboration across multiple sectors.

As part of President Tokayev’s state visit to Tajikistan, a total of 15 important memorandums of cooperation were signed, reflecting the broad scope of bilateral relations. The agreements encompass various fields, including industry, energy, agriculture, digital technology, and culture. Among the key documents are:

  1. A Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Kazakh and Tajik Central Election Commissions, aimed at strengthening electoral cooperation.
  2. A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, focusing on industrial collaboration.
  3. An agreement between the energy ministries of both countries, promoting cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
  4. A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of innovative and digital development between the agricultural ministries of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, which also includes training and retraining programs for agricultural personnel.
  5. A partnership between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan’s Agency for Innovations and Digital Technologies, aimed at advancing digital transformation.
  6. A cultural cooperation memorandum between the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan and the Tajik Committee of Television and Radio.
  7. An agreement to promote information and communication technologies in construction, signed by the relevant ministries and committees from both nations.
  8. A Memorandum on veterinary cooperation between the agricultural ministries of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
  9. A program for cooperation in physical culture and sports, set to span from 2025 to 2027, involving Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism and Sport and Tajikistan’s Committee of Youth Affairs and Sport.
  10. An agreement on standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment between the trade ministries of the two countries.
  11. A regional cooperation memorandum between the Almaty region of Kazakhstan and the Khatlon region of Tajikistan, focusing on trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian, and cultural exchanges.
  12. A memorandum between the justice ministries, concerning the enforcement of judicial acts and other legal matters.
  13. A cooperation agreement between the railway authorities of both nations, aimed at enhancing transportation links.
  14. An understanding between Kazatomprom and Tajikistan’s Rare Metals state enterprise to collaborate in the mining and metallurgy sectors.
  15. A memorandum promoting youth cooperation, signed by Kazakhstan’s Youth Assembly and Tajikistan’s Union of Youth.

These agreements are expected to significantly bolster the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, fostering economic growth, technological innovation, and cultural exchange in the region.
