UAE Reaffirms Support for Lebanon in Call Between Parliamentary Leaders

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), held a phone conversation with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, during which he reiterated the UAE’s steadfast support for Lebanon and its people. Ghobash emphasized that the UAE will make every effort to address the urgent needs of the Lebanese population.

In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has initiated the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” relief campaign, aimed at providing vital assistance in light of recent events impacting the nation.

Ghobash highlighted that the UAE’s unwavering support reflects the deep fraternal ties between the two nations, especially during these challenging times. He noted that this initiative embodies the UAE’s humanitarian vision and its long-standing principles of solidarity and support during crises, aiming to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people by offering comprehensive humanitarian aid.

The FNC Speaker reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s unity, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity as the country navigates through its current challenges.

In response, Speaker Berri expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership, government, parliament, and people of the UAE for their ongoing support. He underscored the importance of pursuing a political solution, with an immediate ceasefire identified as a top priority for restoring stability in Lebanon.
