Azerbaijan and Czech Republic Hold Political Consultations to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Prague, The Gulf Observer: The latest round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic took place in Prague on June 6, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

According to a statement from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while Deputy Foreign Minister Jan Marian headed the Czech delegation.

During the consultations, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining a continuous political dialogue, including reciprocal high-level visits and regular engagement on the sidelines of international events.

Economic cooperation was a central theme of the discussions, with both delegations underscoring the need to boost bilateral trade and explore joint projects in energy, transportation, and high technology. Azerbaijan’s strategic role in the Middle Corridor project and its broader contributions to regional connectivity were particularly recognized and appreciated.

In addition to economic and political dialogue, the parties also focused on enhancing cooperation in education, culture, and tourism as a means to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations.

A substantial portion of the meeting was dedicated to regional developments in the post-conflict period. The Azerbaijani side provided updates on the normalization process with Armenia, current challenges, and steps taken to advance lasting peace in the region. Azerbaijan also shared progress reports on demining activities and large-scale reconstruction in territories liberated from occupation.

The delegations also exchanged perspectives on a range of regional and global issues of mutual interest.

As part of his official visit, Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev held additional bilateral meetings and participated in roundtable discussions with representatives of prominent think tanks and research institutions, further reinforcing Azerbaijan’s diplomatic outreach in Europe.
