President Prabowo Subianto’s Visit to the United States Inspires Indonesian Citizens
Washington, D.C., The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to the United States has been warmly welcomed by Indonesian citizens residing in the country. During his stay, President Subianto met with enthusiastic members of the Indonesian community, who expressed their aspirations and hopes for Indonesia’s future under his leadership.
In a press release from the president’s media team, it was noted that several Indonesian citizens greeted President Subianto upon his arrival at his hotel. Many took the opportunity to share their perspectives on issues affecting Indonesia and conveyed their optimism for his leadership over the next five years.
Bella, a student enrolled in the Masters of Strategy, Cyber Security, and Intelligence program at Johns Hopkins University, highlighted her hopes regarding Indonesia’s defense and cyber capabilities. “As I am in the field of cybersecurity too, and Mr. Prabowo came from a military and defense background, his focus is now on cybersecurity. With that, I hope Indonesia’s cybersecurity will improve,” she stated, expressing her excitement at the opportunity to meet the president in person.
Another student from Johns Hopkins University, Muhammad Yusuf Atthariq Azof, who is pursuing a Masters of Science in Biotechnology, also voiced his aspirations for the future of Indonesian research and innovation. “I hope that Indonesian research personnel can be more advanced and more people want to continue their education at the research level,” Azof remarked, reflecting his desire to see greater strides in scientific research and higher education.
President Subianto landed at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland on Sunday afternoon, marking the next leg of his overseas tour, which commenced with a visit to Beijing for talks with President Xi Jinping. In Washington, D.C., he is expected to meet President Joe Biden, furthering diplomatic and strategic discussions between Indonesia and the United States.
