Istiadat Bersiram Ceremony Held in Honour of Birth of YAM Pengiran Anak Nabeelah Najmul Bolqiah

Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: A Doa Selamat and Kesyukuran Istiadat Bersiram ceremony was solemnly held yesterday at the surau of Istana Nurul Iman to mark the birth of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Nabeelah Najmul Bolqiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik.

The ceremony was conducted in the gracious presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.

The royal ceremony commenced with the symbolic entrance of four awang-awang to place the Dian Empat, followed by three awang-awang bearing the Surat Dikir, Bantal Geguling, and Pabarahan—ceremonial items signifying royal tradition and reverence.

The religious component of the ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Hamid, followed by the recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam, Rawi, and Dikir Marhaban, performed by the Begawan-Begawan Pehin Khatib and Begawan-Begawan Mudim.

At the verse of Ya Habibi, a 17-gun salute was fired by the Canon Team of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces from the Istana Nurul Iman compound, signifying a royal birth and the nation’s celebration.

The ceremony concluded with the reading of Doa Selamat, led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, praying for the well-being and blessings upon the newborn and the royal family.

The event was attended by Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Privy Council members, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri and Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang, Legislative Council members, as well as senior government officials.

Simultaneously, a gathering of distinguished female guests took place at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana within Istana Nurul Iman in conjunction with the ceremony.

Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Nabeelah Najmul Bolqiah is the fourth child of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah, born on Wednesday, 10th of Syawal 1446 Hijrah, corresponding to April 9, 2025, at 6:54 a.m.
