Brunei Darussalam, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, is participating in the Brunei International Book Fair 2026, which officially opened on Saturday in the Bruneian capital and will continue until July 21.

Through its participation, Oman is presenting the richness of its cultural, literary and intellectual heritage to visitors from Brunei and other countries, while reaffirming its commitment to strengthening cultural cooperation and people-to-people ties with Brunei Darussalam.

The Omani pavilion features a diverse collection of books and publications covering literature, intellectual thought, history and heritage in both Arabic and English. The display reflects the depth and diversity of Oman’s cultural identity and highlights the Sultanate’s contributions to literature, historical scholarship and intellectual discourse.

In addition to its literary collection, the pavilion offers promotional materials showcasing Oman’s renowned tourism destinations, cultural landmarks and heritage sites, providing visitors with a comprehensive overview of the country’s rich cultural legacy and tourism potential.

The participation forms part of Oman’s broader efforts to enhance its longstanding cultural relations with Brunei Darussalam and to promote Omani publications and creative works at international book fairs, expanding their reach to global audiences.

Officials noted that the event comes amid growing interest in Omani culture and the Arabic language within Bruneian society, creating new opportunities to deepen cultural dialogue and foster greater collaboration between cultural institutions in both countries.
