Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Praises Saudi Arabia’s Role in Regional Peace and Ceasefire Efforts

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its constructive efforts in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, as well as its pivotal role in facilitating the ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India.

The Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, H.E. Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malkiy, held in Islamabad. He fondly recalled his recent warm and cordial telephone conversation with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on June 24, during which they exchanged views on regional developments.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his profound regards and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, praising the visionary leadership of the Kingdom.

Referring to Pakistan’s assumption of the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of July, the Prime Minister expressed hope for Saudi Arabia’s continued support in ensuring that Pakistan’s tenure at the Council is productive, effective, and reflective of shared values of peace and cooperation.

Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malkiy thanked Prime Minister Sharif for Pakistan’s longstanding and constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and working closely with Pakistan on regional and global matters of mutual interest.
