Russia’s Mirra Andreeva Breaks into World’s Top Three in WTA Rankings

London, The Gulf Observer: Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva has climbed two places to third in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, marking the first time in her career that she has reached the world’s top three.
Andreeva’s rise follows her run to the final of a tournament in Beijing last week, where she was defeated by China’s Qinwen Zheng.
Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina retained the top position in the updated rankings, while Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka remained in second place.
Other Russian players in the top 100 include Diana Shnaider at 13th, Anna Kalinskaya at 21st, Ekaterina Alexandrova at 24th, Liudmila Samsonova at 43rd and Alina Korneeva at 74th.
The updated rankings reflect the results of the Beijing tournament, where Zheng Qinwen claimed the title after defeating Andreeva in the final.
