Ambassador Dr. Oumer Hussein Oba Assumes Charge of Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Oumer Hussein Oba, Ambassador-designate of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, formally assumed charge of the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad on December 17, 2025.
Upon his arrival, Ambassador Dr. Oumer received a warm welcome from the officers and staff of the Ethiopian Embassy. He was briefed in detail on the Mission’s activities and key achievements over the past three years and reviewed the current state of Ethiopia–Pakistan bilateral relations.
The Ambassador reaffirmed his strong commitment to further strengthening the flourishing partnership between Ethiopia and Pakistan, with particular emphasis on enhancing diplomatic engagement, expanding economic cooperation, and promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Ambassador Dr. Oumer Hussein Oba brings with him decades of high-level political, administrative, and diplomatic experience. His distinguished career includes serving as Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Revenue and Customs of Ethiopia, Vice President of the Oromia Regional State, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
