President Mirziyoyev Meets Japanese Parliamentary Speaker to Strengthen Strategic Ties

Tokyo, The Gulf Observer: As part of his official visit to Japan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Fukushiro Nukaga, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, to discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership and broaden multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration through parliamentary channels, with both sides expressing satisfaction at the frequency and intensity of mutual visits and meetings between Uzbek and Japanese parliamentary delegations. Active friendship groups in both parliaments and the successful regular interparliamentary forum held in Tokyo in May were highlighted as key milestones in bilateral relations.
President Mirziyoyev and Speaker Nukaga emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation among relevant parliamentary committees, local councils of people’s deputies, and prefectural assemblies in Japan. The exchange of legislative experience in emerging fields such as digital technologies and artificial intelligence was also noted as a priority for deepening bilateral ties.
The meeting reaffirmed Uzbekistan and Japan’s commitment to expanding cooperation across political, technological, and legislative spheres, building a solid foundation for continued strategic partnership.
