Ali Asadov Chairs Economic Council Meeting in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: On February 27, Prime Minister Ali Asadov chaired a meeting of Azerbaijan’s Economic Council to review key strategic and economic policy matters.

The agenda covered tasks stemming from the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated May 30, 2025, as well as discussions on the draft and principal objectives of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030.” Council members also examined the draft of the “Second State Program on Great Return to the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”

Participants reviewed the country’s economic growth in 2025 and its main driving factors, alongside policy directions in macroeconomic and financial stability based on the year’s outcomes. Additional related issues were also addressed during the session.

Deputy Prime Ministers Samir Sharifov and Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, and Governor of the Central Bank Taleh Kazimov delivered remarks on the agenda items.

Members of the Economic Council shared their assessments and proposals regarding the discussed matters.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Asadov issued relevant instructions concerning the draft “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030” and other agenda items, underscoring the importance of coordinated implementation and continued economic reform efforts.
