Turkmenistan President Leads Mass Cycling Event to Mark World Health Day

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday participated in a large-scale cycling event organized to commemorate World Health Day, reaffirming the country’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and physical well-being.
According to official Turkmen media, the event brought together a wide spectrum of participants, including the Chairman of the Mejlis, deputy chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and sectoral agencies, the mayor of Ashgabat, as well as representatives of public organizations and media outlets. University rectors, ambassadors, and members of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan also joined the event.
The cycling marathon commenced at the iconic Bicycle Monument, located at the intersection of Chandybil Avenue and Bekreve Street, and proceeded along key city routes including Chandybil and Bitarap Turkmenistan avenues.
During the ride, President Berdimuhamedov demonstrated notable physical endurance, setting a strong example for citizens in embracing an active and healthy lifestyle. The event concluded near the Ruhyýet Palace in the city center.
In his address to participants, the president emphasized the importance of encouraging widespread public engagement in sports and regular physical activity, particularly among the youth. He called for sustained efforts to foster a culture of health and wellness across society.
Marking World Health Day, similar mass cycling events were also held in Arkadag city and across all provinces of Turkmenistan. The nationwide observance featured a diverse range of activities, including roundtable discussions, scientific and practical conferences, sports competitions, wellness campaigns, and cultural programs aimed at raising awareness about healthy living.
