UAE President Awards Malta’s Outgoing Ambassador First Class Order of Independence

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded the First Class Order of Independence to Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the United Arab Emirates, in recognition of her efforts to strengthen bilateral relations during her tenure.
The prestigious honour was presented by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, during a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, Al Hashimy reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation and expanding ties with the Republic of Malta across various sectors. She also wished Ambassador Camilleri Calleja success in her future assignments and praised her valuable contribution to advancing relations between the two friendly countries.
For her part, Ambassador Camilleri Calleja expressed her sincere appreciation to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the honour bestowed upon her. She commended the steady growth of relations between the UAE and Malta during her diplomatic mission.
The outgoing ambassador also thanked UAE government institutions for their cooperation and support throughout her tenure, noting that their assistance had played a significant role in the successful completion of her diplomatic mission.
The award reflects the UAE’s appreciation for diplomatic efforts that contribute to strengthening international partnerships and fostering closer bilateral cooperation.
