Azerbaijan, Romania’s Maramureș Region Discuss Expanding Economic Cooperation

Bucharest, The Gulf Observer: A delegation led by Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Khankendi city and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, has held talks with Florentin Nicolae Tuș, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania’s Maramureș region, during an official visit to Romania.
The meeting was attended by businessmen and local entrepreneurs from the Maramureș region.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan’s Garabagh region and Romania’s Maramureș region, focusing on opportunities to strengthen business relations and expand bilateral trade and investment ties.
Florentin Nicolae Tuș expressed interest in establishing direct contacts between businesses from the two regions and organising reciprocal visits to help increase trade turnover.
Yusubov briefed the participants on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects currently underway in Garabagh, as well as favourable conditions created for investors, including available tax incentives.
Highlighting the positive trend in trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania, Yusubov said stronger interregional cooperation could create additional opportunities for diversifying economic relations between the two countries.
He invited businessmen and local entrepreneurs from Maramureș to visit Garabagh and explore investment and cooperation opportunities in the region.
The participants also exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation and discussed prospects for developing direct business contacts.
As part of efforts to promote economic cooperation, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Aramis factory in Maramureș, one of Europe’s major furniture manufacturers, where they toured the company’s production facilities.
The management of the furniture manufacturer expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Garabagh and announced plans to visit the region in the near future.
The visit is expected to contribute to strengthening interregional economic ties and creating new opportunities for cooperation between businesses in Azerbaijan and Romania.
