UAE President, Kurdistan Region PM discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of the Republic of Iraq, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Barzani reviewed the longstanding relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Iraq, with particular emphasis on ties with the Kurdistan Region.
The two sides discussed ways to further expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest and advance bilateral relations in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples.
They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, while emphasising the importance of continued efforts to promote security, stability and sustainable peace across the Middle East.
The meeting underscored the UAE’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Iraq and supporting initiatives that contribute to regional stability and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior UAE officials and members of the ruling families, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
A number of other sheikhs, officials, guests and UAE citizens were also present.
