President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Conferred Honorary Doctor of Political Science Title by Sungkyunkwan University

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A formal conference dedicated to the conferral of the title of “Honorary Doctor of Political Science” of Sungkyunkwan University of the Republic of Korea upon President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by senior officials and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, as well as rectors and professors of higher educational institutions, scholars, diplomats, media representatives and students.

The conference was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

Addressing the gathering, Meredov said the conferral of the honorary academic title by Sungkyunkwan University represented recognition of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s contributions to the development of Turkmenistan, including its political system, economy and social sector, as well as to strengthening the country’s role and standing in the international arena.

He noted that Sungkyunkwan University is among the world’s oldest educational institutions and enjoys considerable recognition within the international academic and educational community.

Speakers at the conference highlighted the contribution of the Turkmen President to strengthening international cooperation, promoting mutual understanding and expanding cultural and humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and countries around the world.

Participants also underscored the significance of the honorary title for further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in areas including science, education, digitalisation and the training of highly qualified specialists.

A thematic exhibition was held alongside the conference, showcasing Turkmenistan’s achievements in science and education, as well as the country’s expanding international relations and cooperation.

At the conclusion of the event, participants adopted an address to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, expressing appreciation for efforts aimed at strengthening Turkmenistan’s international standing, advancing science and education, and expanding cooperation with foreign partners.
