Pakistan: Blast rips through JUI-F workers' convention in Bajaur, 35 dead, 80 injured

Bajaur, The Gulf Observer: At least 40 people, including a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) local leader, were killed in an explosion that took place on Sunday at the workers’ convention in Bajaur’s Khar, the district emergency officer told media.

Among the dead include JUI-F’s Tehsil Khar’s Amir Ziaullah Jan, confirmed the official.

The official also shared stated over 80 people were injured in the explosion. He added that the injured are also being shifted to Timrgara and Peshawar.

One of the injured included Geo News cameraman Samiullah and has been shifted to district headquarter hospital in Lower Dir as he is said to be in critical condition.

The blast reportedly took place inside the convention and law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area. The police are yet to confirm the cause of the blast.
