Chinese Premier Emphasizes Stricter Implementation of Anti-Corruption Measures

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, underscored the imperative need for the unwavering execution of the CPC’s strategic policy of full and rigorous self-governance. Premier Li emphasized these points during a State Council meeting on clean governance held on Monday.

Acknowledging the commendable progress achieved by governments at all levels and their respective departments in the past year regarding the improvement of Party conduct, upholding integrity, and combating corruption, Premier Li called for continued advancements in these crucial areas.

Premier Li urged strict adherence to political discipline and rules, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the rectification of corruption in key areas. He emphasized the necessity to eradicate the root causes of corruption by deepening reforms and ensuring a consistent and sustained effort in the prevention and rectification of corruption.

The premier stressed the centrality of evaluating performance based on the benefits to the people. He highlighted the need to combat pointless formalities and bureaucratism decisively, guard against complacency in thoughts and behaviors, and solidify efforts in implementing decisions and plans outlined by the Party Central Committee.

During the meeting, Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese Vice Premier, presided over the proceedings.
