Vietnamese Deputy PM Offers Condolences to Iranian Embassy in Hanoi
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Prime Minister Trần Lưu Quang extended heartfelt condolences to the Iranian Embassy in Hanoi on Thursday, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other senior officials in a recent helicopter crash.
At the embassy, Deputy PM Quang paid his respects to the departed souls and inscribed his heartfelt sentiments in the condolence book.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Government and its people, he conveyed profound sympathies to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the Government and citizens of Iran, and the bereaved families of President Ebrahim Raisi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other victims who lost their lives in the May 19 accident.
Quang expressed Vietnam’s hope that Iran, despite the immense grief and loss, would persevere in building a prosperous nation. He emphasized Vietnam’s solidarity with Iran during this challenging time.
Earlier, on May 20, Acting President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính had extended condolences to Acting President of Iran, Mohammad Mokhber. National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn also conveyed a message of sympathy to Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
Furthermore, on the same day, Foreign Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn reached out to Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, offering condolences and solidarity.
The tragic helicopter crash occurred in East Azerbaijan province of Iran on May 19, claiming the lives of all individuals on board. In honor of the deceased, Iran declared five days of national mourning.
Vietnam stands in solidarity with Iran during this period of mourning and extends its deepest condolences to the Iranian people and the families of the victims.
