Algeria, Portugal Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Cooperation on UNGA Sidelines

New York, The Gulf Observer: Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf met with Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel on the second day of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting reviewed relations of cooperation and partnership between Algeria and Portugal. The two foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The two sides also discussed preparations for upcoming bilateral activities and important meetings, agreeing to maintain continued communication and consultations to help ensure their successful outcomes.

During the meeting, the officials exchanged views on cooperation between Algeria and the European Union and prospects for further strengthening it. They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The meeting underscored the two countries’ shared interest in maintaining dialogue and strengthening cooperation across bilateral, regional and international platforms.
