Amir of Qatar Leads Istisqa Prayer for Rainfall at Lusail Prayer Ground

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Amir, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, led the Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer on Thursday morning alongside large crowds of worshipers at the Lusail prayer ground, reviving the Prophetic Sunnah of asking Allah for rainfall. Joining HH the Amir were his Personal Representative, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani. The prayer was also attended by HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council, as well as numerous ministers and other dignitaries.

Following the prayer, Sheikh Dr. Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, Judge of the Court of Cassation and Member of the Supreme Judiciary Council, delivered a sermon urging worshipers to seek forgiveness and engage in charitable acts, which are believed to bring blessings and rainfall. He emphasized the significance of water as an indispensable blessing and encouraged sincere supplication in the Istisqa prayer.

The prayer reflected the community’s unity and devotion in seeking Allah’s mercy to provide much-needed rainfall, underscoring the spiritual tradition of reliance on divine aid in times of need.
