Amir of Qatar Meets Canadian PM Justin Trudeau in Ottawa

Ottawa, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, met today with the Prime Minister of Canada, His Excellency Justin Trudeau, at the House of Commons headquarters in Ottawa.

The meeting commenced with Prime Minister Trudeau welcoming the Amir and his accompanying delegation, highlighting the longstanding friendship and cooperative ties between Qatar and Canada. He expressed hope that this visit would further strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors, paving the way for enhanced collaboration.

In response, the Amir conveyed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Trudeau for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He emphasized Qatar’s commitment to working together with Canada to enhance bilateral cooperation, which contributes to stability and peace both regionally and globally.

Discussions during the meeting focused on key areas of bilateral relations, particularly in investment, economic collaboration, and international cooperation. The leaders also addressed the latest developments concerning the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as other regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Attendees of the meeting included Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani; Chief of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani; and other senior officials from the Qatari delegation. On the Canadian side, several high-ranking officials were present.

This meeting marks a significant step in fortifying the partnership between Qatar and Canada, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting mutual interests and addressing global challenges collaboratively.
