Azerbaijan, Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Military Cooperation
Baku, The Gulf Observer: First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, held talks with a Pakistani delegation led by Major General Muhammad Imran Khan Babar, Chief of the Main Department for Foreign Military Cooperation at the Headquarters of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense said.
During the meeting, Colonel General Karim Valiyev emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on longstanding bonds of friendship and brotherhood. He expressed satisfaction with the current level of strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani Chief of the General Staff noted that regular high-level contacts between the defense institutions of the two countries have provided fresh momentum to bilateral military cooperation.
Major General Muhammad Imran Khan Babar thanked the Azerbaijani side for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation. He highlighted the positive contribution of regular meetings between the two sides to the development of military cooperation.
The officials also held detailed discussions on military education, military-technical cooperation, joint military exercises and other issues of mutual interest.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Azerbaijan and Pakistan to further expanding bilateral defense and military cooperation and strengthening coordination between their respective armed forces.
