Azerbaijan Resettles 257 Returnees in Khojaly, Aghdara and Jabrayil Under Great Return Program
Baku, The Gulf Observer: In line with the directives of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has carried out another phase of its Great Return program, relocating a new group of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to the liberated districts of Khojaly, Aghdara, and Jabrayil.
The latest resettlement operation saw 65 families, comprising a total of 257 individuals, return to their native regions as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to restore life in the liberated territories.
According to official figures, 28 families, totaling 106 individuals, were resettled in the Khojaly district, while 25 families, comprising 96 individuals, moved to the Aghdara district. Additionally, 12 families, including 55 individuals, were relocated to the Jabrayil district.
The Great Return program is a key national initiative aimed at facilitating the safe and sustainable return of former internally displaced persons to the liberated areas following extensive reconstruction and infrastructure development. The Azerbaijani government continues to expand housing, public services, and essential infrastructure to support the reintegration of returning residents and accelerate the socio-economic revival of these regions.
