Bahrain and Iran Discuss Resumption of Political Relations

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, and Dr. Ali Bagheri Kani, Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a significant meeting in Tehran.

In a joint statement, the ministers emphasized that the meeting took place within the framework of the “fraternal historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the bonds of religion, neighborliness, joint history, and common interests that connect them.”

The meeting was part of Dr. Al Zayani’s visit to Iran, made at the invitation of Dr. Kani, to participate in the Asia Cooperation Dialogue meeting.

During the discussions, both parties agreed to establish the necessary mechanisms to initiate talks aimed at resuming political relations between the two countries. This agreement marks a pivotal step towards strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering mutual cooperation between Bahrain and Iran.
