BCCA Hosts Preparatory Event for COP29 Conference in London

London, The Gulf Observer: The British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan (BCCA) recently organized a high-profile event in London to delve into the preparatory process for the upcoming 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled to be hosted in Azerbaijan later this year.

Distinguished attendees at the event included the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK, Elin Suleymanov, UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, Baroness Emma Nicholson, as well as prominent figures from Azerbaijani and British business sectors and climate change experts, as reported by Azerbaijani media.

In her address, Baroness Emma Nicholson commended Azerbaijan’s pivotal role as the host of the forthcoming COP29 Conference, underscoring its global significance. The Baroness emphasized the importance of collective efforts to address climate change challenges and praised Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering meaningful discussions on sustainable solutions.

Ambassador Elin Suleymanov underscored Azerbaijan’s proven track record of successfully organizing international events and assured attendees that the country is well-prepared to meet the stringent requirements of COP29. He expressed confidence that Azerbaijan’s hosting of the conference would contribute significantly to advancing global initiatives in combating climate change.

The event also featured insights from key speakers such as Narmin Jarchalova, Chief Operations Officer for COP29 Azerbaijan, Zohrab Gadirov, Deputy Executive Director at the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and Ulvi Mansurov, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Investment Company JSC.

Back in Baku, preparations for COP29 are in full swing, with the conference poised to bring together world leaders, experts, and stakeholders to address pressing climate change issues and collaboratively work towards sustainable solutions.
