Warm Royal Welcome
Earlier in the day, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman accompanied the President of Kosovo and First Gentleman on a ceremonial procession from Istana Edinburgh to Istana Nurul Iman.
The route was lined with enthusiastic students and teachers from both government and private schools, waving the national flags of Brunei Darussalam and Kosovo in a show of friendship and respect.
State Welcoming Ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman
The official welcoming ceremony was held at the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman, where Their Majesties, alongside the President and First Gentleman, proceeded to the ceremonial dais to receive the salute of honour. The national anthems of both nations were played, accompanied by a 21-gun salute.
Following the ceremony, Her Excellency Dr Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu reviewed the guard of honour mounted by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The visiting dignitaries were then introduced to members of the Bruneian royal family, the Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet ministers, members of the Privy Council, deputy ministers, heads of security agencies, foreign envoys, members of the Legislative Council, and senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with their spouses.
His Majesty was introduced to the official delegation of Kosovo, including the Chief of Staff and senior advisers from the Office of the President of Kosovo.
Audience Ceremony with Their Majesties
Following the state welcome, Their Majesties granted an audience to President Osmani-Sadriu and First Gentleman at Cheradi Laila Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman. Members of the royal family were present during the ceremony, alongside the Kosovan delegation.
Also in attendance was Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, who served as the Minister-in-Attendance, along with his spouse.
This historic state visit marks a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Kosovo, reflecting both nations’ mutual commitment to deepening cooperation and fostering enduring friendship.
