Kazakhstan Ratifies Amendments to Legal Assistance Conventions

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed two laws ratifying protocols on amendments to key international conventions concerning legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family, and criminal cases.

According to official sources, the first law pertains to the ratification of amendments to the convention dated January 22, 1993, while the second law covers amendments to the convention dated October 7, 2002. These legislative measures are aimed at further strengthening international legal cooperation and enhancing mechanisms for judicial collaboration.

The texts of both laws are set to be published in the official press in accordance with standard procedures.

Earlier, President Tokayev also ratified amendments to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, reflecting Kazakhstan’s continued commitment to aligning its legal framework with evolving international standards and practices.

The latest developments underscore Kazakhstan’s proactive approach to modernizing its legal system and reinforcing cross-border legal cooperation in civil, family, and criminal matters.
