Bulgarian President Awards Badge of Honour to Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr

Sofia, The Gulf Observer: In a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Sofia on Friday, President Rumen Radev of the Republic of Bulgaria conferred the Badge of Honour of the President upon Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman. The prestigious decoration is one of Bulgaria’s highest presidential honours, awarded in recognition of distinguished contributions to the promotion of shared values, the strengthening of bilateral relations, and the positive impact of individuals on society.
During his address at the ceremony, President Radev conveyed the deep appreciation of the Bulgarian people for the humanitarian role played by the Sultanate of Oman in facilitating the safe return of the Bulgarian crew of the Galaxy Leader ship. He lauded Oman’s principled positions and humanitarian initiatives, which, he noted, reflect the country’s deep-rooted values in supporting peace and global solidarity.
President Radev also praised the visionary leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, under whose guidance Oman continues to play a constructive role on the international stage. He reaffirmed the strong and friendly relations binding Bulgaria and Oman, expressing hope for their continued advancement.
In response, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi expressed his profound gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him, describing the award as a symbol of the universal values shared by all nations. He remarked, “In a world rife with turmoil, the values that unite us are of utmost importance. They are precious values for all of humanity, transcending religious or ethnic identities, and reflecting our common humanity.”
Sayyid Badr also conveyed greetings and well wishes from the Sultanate of Oman, its leadership, government, and people to the Republic of Bulgaria, expressing his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him during his visit. He affirmed Oman’s commitment to further strengthening its ties with Bulgaria in the spirit of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect.
