Chinese Vice President Affirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties with Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Vice President Han Zheng expressed China’s readiness to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation with Mongolia during his three-day visit to Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital. His visit, which included meetings with Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, and Parliament Speaker Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, underscored China’s commitment to reinforcing ties between the two nations.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene, Han emphasized the importance of consolidating political trust and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation. He highlighted areas such as energy, connectivity, infrastructure construction, and joint efforts in international and regional affairs. Han also welcomed Mongolia’s designation of 2023-2025 as the “Years to Visit Mongolia,” expressing China’s eagerness to strengthen exchanges with Mongolia’s youth, students, and media.

Han expressed a desire to accelerate the development of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, noting the potential for increased cooperation among the three nations.

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene acknowledged the significant anniversaries this year, including the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, the 30th anniversary of the revised Friendship and Cooperation Treaty, and the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership. He reiterated Mongolia’s commitment to advancing bilateral relations based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and shared development.

In his discussion with President Khurelsukh, Han reaffirmed the strong neighborly and friendly ties between China and Mongolia. He noted that China has consistently supported Mongolia on core issues and expressed hope that both countries will continue to work towards building a China-Mongolia community with a shared future.

President Khurelsukh emphasized Mongolia’s dedication to developing its comprehensive strategic partnership with China and its adherence to the one-China policy. He expressed a desire to collaborate with China to enhance bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries and the broader region.

During his meeting with Parliament Speaker Amarbayasgalan, Han praised Mongolia’s focus on maintaining friendly and cooperative relations with China. He expressed support for strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the legislatures and political parties of both nations and anticipated that Mongolia’s State Great Khural will continue to play a key role in advancing China-Mongolia relations.

Amarbayasgalan affirmed Mongolia’s strategic commitment to maintaining and expanding its beneficial relationship with China. He highlighted the State Great Khural’s readiness to enhance exchanges and collaboration, learning from each other to deepen their partnership.
