Crown Prince of Fujairah Honored with Medal of Honour by Italian University

Fujairah, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, received the prestigious Medal of Honour from the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. The accolade recognizes his visionary efforts in advancing philosophy, cultural development, and knowledge dissemination in the region.

The award highlights Sheikh Mohammed’s instrumental role in establishing the House of Philosophy in Fujairah and fostering initiatives that bridge Arab and international philosophical communities. It also underscores the strong partnership between the Italian philosophical community and Fujairah’s intellectual endeavors.

Professor Paolo Ponzio, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy at the University of Bari, presented the award during a ceremony at Al Rumaila Palace in Fujairah. The Medal of Honour, the university’s highest academic distinction, is reserved for individuals who have achieved remarkable contributions to science, art, and the humanities.

The event was attended by Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, and Luca Maria Scarantino, President of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP).

The ceremony coincided with the closing session of the Fourth Fujairah International Philosophy Conference, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed and organized by the House of Philosophy. This conference has become a cornerstone in promoting philosophical dialogue and cultural exchange on a global scale.

Sheikh Mohammed’s recognition reflects not only his personal achievements but also Fujairah’s growing influence as a hub for intellectual and cultural development.
