Czech Economy Records 2.2 Percent Year-on-Year Growth in Q1 2025

Prague, The Gulf Observer: The Czech economy experienced a notable recovery in the first quarter of 2025, with gross domestic product (GDP) expanding by 2.2% year-on-year, according to revised estimates released by the Czech Statistical Office on Friday. This marks the strongest GDP growth since the second quarter of 2022.
Statisticians attributed the annual growth primarily to a 2.3% increase in final consumption expenditures and a 13.6 billion crown rise in inventories — both of which significantly contributed to the overall expansion.
Among the components of final consumption, household expenditure rose by 2.5%, reflecting a rebound in consumer confidence and spending. Government final consumption expenditure also contributed positively, registering a 1.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
This revised estimate highlights a steady recovery trend in the Czech economy, supported by stronger domestic demand and improved inventory dynamics. Further details and sectoral breakdowns are expected to be published in the full quarterly report later in June
