French Film Festival to Take Place in Dushanbe from October 28 to November 1
Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: The French Film Festival, organized by the French Embassy in Dushanbe, is set to take place in the Tajik capital from October 28 to November 1, according to Asia-Plus. The event will feature a diverse selection of French films with Russian subtitles, shown every evening at 6 pm at the “Vatan” cinema.
The festival will offer a broad array of genres, from comedies to dramas and animated films, showcasing both cinematic classics and contemporary works from France.
Opening the festival on October 28 is the iconic comedy La Grande Vadrouille (Gérard Oury, 1966), followed by the drama While the Sun Shines (Philippe Petit, 2022) on October 29. On October 30, audiences can enjoy the animated feature The Pharaoh, the King, and the Princess (Michel Ocelot, 2022), which presents three vibrant stories set in ancient Egypt, medieval France, and 18th-century Eastern lands.
The festival continues with The Promise (Thomas Kruithof, 2021) on October 31, and will close on November 1 with Eugénie Grandet (Marc Dugain, 2021), an adaptation of the famous novel by Honoré de Balzac.
