Gaza Suffers Devastating Human and Material Losses After Year-Long Israeli Offensive
Gaza, The Gulf Observer: Israel’s year-long military offensive on Gaza has resulted in catastrophic human and material losses, according to data released by the Palestinian media office in Gaza. The figures reveal a harrowing toll, with more than 41,800 people killed and over 96,800 injured during the onslaught. Around 10,000 people remain missing or are presumed dead under the rubble.
The report indicates that the Israeli military has carried out approximately 3,650 massacres over the past year, leading to widespread devastation. The discovery of seven mass graves at hospitals has added to the horror, with 520 bodies of Palestinians recovered from these sites.
Children have been disproportionately affected by the violence, making up 42 percent of the total death toll. Women account for 27 percent, while men represent 31 percent of those killed. The report underscores the suffering of Gaza’s youngest, with 171 newborns dying moments after birth and 710 infants under one year old killed in the attacks. Even fetuses have been found buried under the rubble.
The emotional and psychological toll on Gaza’s children is immense, with approximately 25,973 having lost one or both parents due to the violence.
