Hamas Criticizes Netanyahu’s Speech at US Congress

Gaza City, The Gulf Observer: The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has vehemently criticized the decision to allow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deliver a speech at the US Congress. In a statement, Hamas accused Netanyahu of “distorting facts” regarding his conduct in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Hamas condemned the platform given to Netanyahu, stating it provided him an opportunity to “polish his face before the world and cover up the mass killings and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.” The movement emphasized that Netanyahu should be brought before the International Criminal Court for his alleged war crimes.
The statement from Hamas accused Netanyahu of using “degrading propaganda and lies” as an excuse to commit “the most horrific crimes against women, children, and the elderly in Gaza.” It rejected Netanyahu’s claims about efforts to secure the release of Israeli captives in Gaza, accusing him of thwarting all attempts to end the conflict and finalize a deal for the prisoners’ release, despite continuous mediation efforts.
Hamas also dismissed Netanyahu’s vision for the future of Gaza as “mere illusions and fantasies he tries to promote.” The movement asserted that the Palestinian people “alone have the right to determine their fate and decide who governs them.”
This strong rebuke from Hamas underscores the ongoing tension and divergent narratives surrounding the conflict in Gaza.
