Iranian FM emphasizes need to expand relations with Tajikistan
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has emphasized the need for further expanding the country’s relations with Tajikistan in all fields.
In a meeting with the new Iranian ambassador to Tajikistan, the top diplomat said that the two countries share the same culture and language, making it important for them to deepen bilateral relations.
Alireza Haghighian met with Amirabdollahian in Tehran on Saturday afternoon local time, before departing for Dushanbe to start his mission.
Haghighian has previously served as Iran’s ambassador to Armenia and Pakistan. He is replacing Mohammad Taghi Saberi in Dushanbe.
