Iranian President and Malaysian Prime Minister Demand End to Gaza Genocide
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim strongly criticized the policies of the United States and certain Western countries regarding Gaza during a phone conversation on Monday. The two leaders expressed their concerns over the ongoing violence and discussed the need for a ceasefire in the region.
During their discussion, Pezeshkian and Ibrahim reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and examined the latest developments in the region, with a particular focus on the situation in Gaza. Both leaders expressed disapproval of the actions and policies of the US and some Western nations, condemning their support for the Zionist regime through media and military assistance. They argued that these actions contradict the West’s professed commitment to human rights and hinder efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.
The two leaders attributed the continuation of violence against the people of Gaza to the backing provided by Western countries, which they believe enables the regime to carry out crimes against the oppressed and defenseless population.
Pezeshkian and Ibrahim also emphasized the importance of unity and coordinated action among Islamic countries to confront the crimes being committed in Gaza and to stop the ongoing killing and genocide. They suggested that convening a meeting of the heads of Islamic cooperation countries would be an effective step towards achieving this goal.
The conversation between the Iranian and Malaysian leaders underscores the growing concern in the Islamic world over the situation in Gaza and the perceived double standards of Western countries in addressing the conflict.
