Iran’s Foreign Minister Holds Talks with Dutch Counterpart During Visit to the Netherlands
Amsterdam, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, engaged in discussions with his Dutch counterpart, Caspar Veldkamp, during a brief stopover in Amsterdam on his way back to Tehran. This meeting took place after Araghchi attended the 10th session of the United Nations Global Alliance of Civilizations in Lisbon, Portugal.
The talks, as confirmed by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, centered around a range of international developments and issues of mutual interest. The two diplomats exchanged views on global affairs, underscoring the importance of continued diplomatic dialogue.
During his visit to Lisbon, Araghchi was invited jointly by the UN Deputy Secretary-General and the Portuguese Foreign Minister to address the international conference. On the sidelines of the event, he held a series of productive meetings with various foreign counterparts. Notably, the Iranian foreign minister also met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, where they discussed pressing regional matters, with particular emphasis on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid the devastating Israeli military actions.
The talks between Araghchi and Veldkamp, along with his meetings at the UN, reflect Iran’s ongoing engagement with the international community on a variety of global issues, especially concerning regional stability and humanitarian concerns.
