Kazakhstani Boxer Saken Bibossinov Advances to Quarterfinals at Paris 2024 Summer Olympics
Paris, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstani boxer Saken Bibossinov has triumphed in his first bout at the Summer Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, according to the reports of Olympic.kz.
Competing in the men’s 51 kg Round of 16, Bibossinov secured a decisive victory over Samet Gümüş of Turkiye, who is the reigning champion of the 2024 EUBC Elite Men & Women Championships Flyweight finals. Bibossinov won the bout by unanimous decision, propelling him to the quarterfinals.
In his next match, Bibossinov will face Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan.
Earlier in the games, another Kazakhstani boxer, Nurbek Oralbay, also achieved success by defeating Callum Peters from the Australian team in the men’s 80 kg preliminaries. Oralbay’s Round of 16 fight ended with a 3:2 split decision in his favor.
The victories of Bibossinov and Oralbay underscore Kazakhstan’s strong presence in boxing at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
