Khareef Dhofar Draws Over 413,000 Visitors by End of July 2024

Dhofar, The Gulf Observer: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has reported a notable increase in visitor numbers for Khareef Dhofar (Monsoon Season) for the year 2024. From the beginning of the season through July 31, a total of 413,122 visitors attended the festival, reflecting a 4.3% rise compared to the 396,108 visitors recorded during the same period in 2023.

The data reveals a 3% increase in Omani visitors, totaling 305,070 this year, while visitors from GCC states reached 66,998, up from 59,555 in the previous year. Additionally, visitors from other nationalities numbered 41,054, compared to 40,418 in 2023.

In terms of transportation, 316,434 visitors entered Dhofar Governorate via the land port by the end of July 2024. Meanwhile, air travel saw an increase of 7%, with 96,688 visitors arriving by air compared to the same period in 2023.

Notably, 95% of the total visitors arrived between July 1 and July 31, 2024, with only 5% arriving during the period from June 21 to June 30. The surge in visitors highlights the continued popularity and growth of the Khareef Dhofar season.
