Baku, The Gulf Observer: A concert featuring the Baku Chamber Orchestra, students from the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and young pianists from the “Simurg” project was held in the Grand Hall of the Academy on April 30.

The event was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, highlighting the continued support of the Foundation for youth and cultural development initiatives.

Opening with Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s “Arazbari” performed by the Baku Chamber Orchestra, the concert offered a rich and varied program of works by both Azerbaijani and international composers. Students and young musicians captivated the audience with performances that reflected technical skill and artistic maturity.

The concert also featured the participation of People’s Artist and Professor Farhad Badalbeyli, Artistic Director of the Baku Chamber Orchestra and Rector of the Baku Music Academy, along with Honored Artist Fuad Ibrahimov, the orchestra’s Principal Conductor. Their leadership and artistic guidance contributed significantly to the concert’s success, which was warmly received by the audience.

The Simurg project, which aims to identify and nurture musically gifted youth, played a central role in the event. Throughout the academic year, selected participants undergo intensive training under the mentorship of instructors from prestigious institutions including the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory, the Moscow Conservatory, the Gnessin State Musical College, and the Croatia Music Academy.

The concert served not only as a showcase of young talent but also as a testament to the enduring cultural and educational mission of the Baku Music Academy and its collaborative initiatives.
