Makkah Authorities Announce Free Luggage Storage for Umrah Performers

Makkah, The Gulf Observer: Authorities in the holy city of Makkah have announced the launch of free luggage storage services for Umrah performers, aimed at enhancing convenience for visitors. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque confirmed the initiative on Wednesday.

The new storage facilities are strategically located at two sites: one to the east of the Grand Mosque, near the Makkah Library, and another to the west, near Gate 64. To access the service, Umrah performers must present their permits through the Nusuk app, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Each performer can store bags, weighing up to 7 kilograms, for a maximum duration of four hours. However, loose items, valuables, food, medicine, and prohibited items are not permitted. A claim ticket will be required for the retrieval of stored luggage.

The General Authority has also indicated plans to expand the service, with the goal of covering all areas surrounding the Grand Mosque in the near future, further enhancing the experience for visitors.
