Malaysia and Maldives Deepen Ties with New Agreements in Tourism, Sports, Healthcare, and Diplomacy

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: President Mohamed Muizzu and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim led their respective delegations during the Malaysia-Maldives Bilateral Meeting.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, education, tourism, climate change, defense, youth and sports, Islamic banking, the halal industry, anti-corruption efforts, digital technology, solar energy, and artificial intelligence.
Both leaders also addressed pressing regional issues, notably the situations in Myanmar and Gaza, as well as matters related to U.S. tariffs.
Following the meeting, they witnessed the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) covering tourism, sports, and healthcare, along with the Exchange of Notes on Diplomatic Training and Bilateral Consultations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the full implementation of these initiatives through the relevant ministries and agencies.
