Emirati Publishers Take Center Stage at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) is in full swing, bringing together around 1,400 publishing houses from 96 countries, turning the capital into a global hub of books, ideas, and culture.

The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) is making a strong showing this year, highlighting its efforts to grow the Emirati publishing industry and promote local authors on the international stage.

Amira Bukadra, Chairperson of the EPA, told Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the fair is one of the world’s leading literary events and a golden opportunity for local publishers.

“This event connects Emirati publishers with the world,” she said. “It’s a chance to showcase our creativity and build global partnerships.”

The EPA is also using the fair to raise awareness of its Publishers Training Programme, which offers workshops in writing, editing, printing, and marketing. The aim is to give publishers the tools they need to compete both locally and internationally.

In addition, ADIBF is hosting professional development sessions for people working in publishing and content creation. These include workshops and panel discussions focused on the latest trends in distribution, digital tools, and creative marketing.

Bukadra added that the association is focused on using new strategies and innovations to help Emirati publishers expand into new markets.

With a packed schedule and a wide international turnout, this year’s fair is not just a celebration of books — it’s a strong step forward for the future of Emirati publishing.
