Myanmar’s SAC Confers Honorary Titles and Medals to Recognize Outstanding Contributions

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: Myanmar’s State Administration Council (SAC) conferred honorary titles and medals on distinguished individuals from Myanmar and abroad in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the nation’s interests. The ceremony, held at Thabin Hall of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, was presided over by Chairman of the SAC, Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

In his address, the Senior General emphasized that individuals who dedicate themselves to the nation with excellence in knowledge, expertise, and service are honored on Independence Day and other significant occasions. He highlighted the importance of recognizing those who contribute to national development, safeguard national interests, uphold peace and stability, and achieve excellence in diplomacy, science, arts, and literature.

The Senior General stated that the awards are conferred to strengthen international friendship and relations, honoring individuals who have diligently served Myanmar. He assured that the selection process adheres to the established provisions, ensuring that recipients are truly deserving of these prestigious honors.

At the ceremony, 50 individuals were conferred with honorary titles in accordance with notifications issued on 4 January and 2 March 2025. The titles and their respective recipients included:

  • Sithu Title – 13 recipients
  • Thura Title – 3 recipients
  • Zeya Kyaw Htin Title – 17 recipients
  • Wunna Kyaw Htin Title – 14 recipients
  • Alinka Kyaw Swa Title – 1 recipient
  • Theikpa Kyaw Swa Title – 2 recipients

The Senior General underscored the government’s commitment to implementing the Five-Point Roadmap, nine objectives, and two national visions comprehensively. He also reaffirmed ongoing preparations for a multiparty democratic general election, calling for unity between the government and the people to ensure a free and fair electoral process.

Encouraging the honorees to serve as role models, the Senior General urged them to continue contributing to national unity, stability, and development, inspiring future generations with their outstanding achievements.

The ceremony was attended by Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, SAC Vice-Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, SAC officials and their spouses, union-level dignitaries, ministers, senior Tatmadaw officers, and other distinguished guests.

Following the conferment, the Senior General personally congratulated and cordially greeted the recipients and their families, marking the occasion as a significant moment of national recognition and appreciation.
