Oman Condemns Israeli Bombing of Al-Tabi’in School in Gaza
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman has strongly condemned the bombing of Al-Tabi’in School in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of the Gaza Strip by Israeli occupation forces. The attack, which occurred on Saturday, targeted a shelter for displaced persons and resulted in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians and injuries to dozens of unarmed civilians. The ministry described the incident as yet another heinous crime added to the growing record of atrocities committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people.
In a formal statement, the Sultanate of Oman affirmed that the targeting of schools and civilian facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and resolutions of international legitimacy. The Omani government expressed deep concern over the continuing attacks on innocent civilians and renewed its call for the international community to take immediate and decisive action to halt these blatant assaults.
Oman urged the global community to work towards protecting innocent civilians, holding the Israeli occupation forces accountable for the killings, and imposing international sanctions on Israel. The statement also reiterated Oman’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves and establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the provisions of UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation underscores its firm stance on the need for a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, emphasizing the importance of international solidarity in addressing the ongoing violations of human rights in the region.
