President Ilham Aliyev Receives Egyptian Senate Speaker in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, Speaker of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on May 25, reaffirming the long-standing friendship and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

At the meeting, Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq conveyed the greetings of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Azerbaijani Head of State, emphasizing that President El-Sisi fondly remembers his past meetings with President Aliyev.

President Aliyev expressed his appreciation for the kind words and greetings and requested that they be reciprocated to President El-Sisi. He noted the historical and friendly nature of relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt, underlining the mutual support the two countries offer each other within international organizations.

The Azerbaijani President also reflected on President El-Sisi’s official visit to Azerbaijan and his own visit to Egypt, recalling the productive discussions held during those engagements, which further solidified bilateral cooperation.

Both sides recognized the important role of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the exchange of parliamentary delegations in deepening ties between Azerbaijan and Egypt.

In addition, the meeting included a discussion on future prospects for cooperation in various sectors, including economic, trade, cultural, and humanitarian fields, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to broaden and strengthen their partnership.
